It adopted a mixed methods research design and obtained data primarily using questionnaire and complimented with interview from a sample of 119 participants. The study benefited from other secondary data and a theoretical framework grounded on systems theory. Tables were used in the presentation of data while the SPSS Software was used in running the analysis. Recorded interview was transcribed and summarized and used in supporting quantitative data. The study discovered that 83.3% of participant view Nigeria police as untrustworthy, 96.4% agree that police connive with criminals and 76.5% indicated their unwillingness to report criminal hideouts to the police.
